AUP Graduation 2016 | Highlights

We celebrated years of hard work and creativity on Sunday 27 November at our 2016 Graduation ceremony, hosted at the Theatre Royal Plymouth. November saw our students graduate across a spectrum of creative degrees, spurred on by inspiring speeches from our Honorary Fellows, Principal Professor Andrew Brewerton, Chair of the Board of Governors Ivan Sidgreaves and Student's Union President Steph Martin.

Every year we award Honorary Fellowships to recognise exceptional achievement in arts and culture, and to commend those who’ve been a catalyst for significant social change. This year we awarded a joint Honorary Fellowship to Sir John Sorrell CBE and Lady Frances Sorrell OBE, for their outstanding contribution to the UK design industries and their work through the Sorrell Foundation. A second Honorary Fellowship went to Katie Greenyer, Creative Director of Pentland Brands – the fashion group whose labels range from Red or Dead to Speedo, Berghaus and Ellesse – for extraordinary achievement in the field of fashion design, and her passionate advocacy for young people in the creative industries.
