Delivered in partnership by Fab Lab Plymouth @ Plymouth College of Art and Fab Lab Devon, as part of Venturefest SW, the HackFest project provided over 200 young people across Devon with the opportunity to design and build product prototypes to respond to societal issues of the future. Through a series of digital skills workshops and intensive 6hr "Challenge Days" prototypes were conceived and made in response to a brief set by the HackFest team which focussed on shortages we will face in the future if current consumption trends continue as they do today. The winning teams were invited to pitch their ideas to industry professionals and investors at Venturefest SW, the South West's premier festival of technology and innovation.
